If only she had kept silent! But like so many women he had known,
she could not be sure that a thing was true until she had spoken it;
and sooner or later this would lead her to the next and much more
reckless step, which was to
speak a thing in order to make it true.

To change the conditions of our outer world, we must actually
become the conditions of our desire, from within.

"The

"To observe attentively is to remember distinctly"

When a superior man knows the causes which make instruction successful, and those which make it of no effect, he can become a teacher of others.
Thus in his teaching, he leads and does not drag; he strengthens and does
not discourage; he opens the way but does not conduct to the end without
the learner's own efforts. Leading and not dragging produces harmony. Strengthening and not discouraging makes attainment easy. Opening the
way and not conducting to the end makes the learner thoughtful. He who produces such harmony, easy attainment, and througtfulness may be pronounced
a skillful teacher.  Confucius

Oh, the miraculous energy that flows between two people who
care enough to get beyond surfaces and games, who are

It's extremely important not to have one's life all blocked out,
not to have the days and weeks totally organized. It's essential
to leave gaps and interludes for spontaneous action, for it is
often in sponatneity and surprises that we open ourselves
to the unlimited opportunities and new areas brought into our
lives  by chance. It is often in consequence of these very moments
that our life paths take their most interesting turnings.  Jean Hersey

You gotta let go if your gonna grow.

Resisting "what is" keeps Self away.

You either have all the things you want in life or
you have all the reasons why not.

What you resist persists.

Upsets are specific, don't generalize.

If you can't rock the boat it's already sunk.

A soon as you say it the way it really is,
it's open for you to have it different.

Your either being right about it, or your off it.

The three facets of upsets/victim
1. I do it to someone or something.
2. Someone or something does it to me.
3. Someone doing it to someone else.
Actually the only facet there is, is myself playing all those roles.

My notion about service is that service is actually that kind of
relationship in which you have a commitment to the person.
Now I don't mean to the person's body or to the person's personality,
or to the person's stomach, or to the person's almost anything.
What I mean in fact is that for me what service is about is,
being committed to the other Being. To the other persons's spirituality.
To who the other person is. Now the problem with that is that to the
degree that you are in fact committed to the other person, you are only
as valuable as you can deal with the other person's stuff, their evidence,
their manifestation, and that's what service is about. Service is about
knowing who the other person is, And being able to tolerate giving space
to their garbage.
What most people do is to give space to peoples's quality and
deal with their garbage. Actually, you should do it the other way
around. Deal with who they are and give space to their garbage.
Keep interacting with them as if they were god. And every time you get
garbage from them, give space to the garbage and go back and interact
with them as if they were god.    Werner Erhard 1975

The people it's hardest to love are the ones that need it the most.  M. J.

cools the sting.  William Arthur Ward

We need to choose to release the past and forgive everyone,
ourselves included
. We may not know how to forgive, and we may not
want to forgive; but the very fact we say we are willing to forgive begins
the healing process. It is imperative for our own healing that
"we" release the past and forgive everyone.

The worst thing in your life may contain seeds of the best.
When  you can see crisis as an opportunity, your life

Regarding Pain and Suffering: Remember that the rosebush can
produce a perfect rose only through correct pruning. The pruning
may hurt the plant temporarily, But if the plant would "see"or
understand the necessity then it would be filled with joy each time
the gardener came with the knife. As we have chosen to enter this
physical world we must recognize then the necessity for suffering.

A challenging lesson: That people are going to love in
the ways and manners they do,  not the way we do.

To forget how to dig the earth and tend the soil is
to forget ourselves.
Gandhi

When you forget who you really are, when you need healing,
seek out nature to return home, and discover again your true self.

Man did not weave the web of life, but is merely a strand on it.
Whatever man does to the web, he does to himself.  Chief Sealth

People live their life out of what they know or think they know
life to be instead of living out of possibility.  Peter Byrum

From Painting in the Instant by Gordon Onslow Ford
Red is red, a limit in itself. A triangular form painted
red is taking to much for granted -- there is the triangular
form which is colorless, and there is the red, which is formless.
The art is  to marry form to a color so that one does not detract
from the other, and each keeps its identity in union.

Perhaps one day, to the joy of children or poets there will be a
 new written
language of image, sign and symbol in which
the meaning could be read in the form of the characters
and which would remain open to invention.

All men dream but not equally. Those who dream by night in the
dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it
was vanity, but
the dreamers of the day are dangerous men,
for they may act their dreams with open eyes to make it possible.
T. E. Lawrence

To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent
persons and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of
honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate
beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether
 by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemeed social condition;
to know even one life has breathed easier befcause you have lived.
This is
to have succeeded.   Ralph Waldo Emerson

Live with intention --  walk to the edge --  listen hard-- practice wellness --
play with abandon --  laugh --  choose with no regret --  continue to learn --
appreciate your friends --  do what you love -- live as if this is all there is.
Maryanne Radmacher-Horshey

All it takes to make a difference is the courage to stop proving
I was right in being unable to make a difference ...to stop assigning
cause for my inablitliy, to the circumstances outside myself and to be
willing to have been that way, and to see that the fear of being a failure is a
lot less important than the unique opportunity I have to make a difference.
Werner Erhard

When your losing heart , the way to get it back is by giving it out.
Joe LaValley

The really valuable thing is intuition.    Albert Einstein

live by the authority of your own soul, for courage erases
old patterns of fear.    La Una Huffines

All we are given is possibilities- to make of ourselves
one thing or another.   Jose Ortega Y Gasset

I want to realize brotherhood or identity not merely with the beings
called human, but I want to realize identity with all life, even with
such beings as crawl on the earth."  Gandhi

Do not follow where the path leads. Rather, go where
there is no path  and leave a trail.  O.P. Holmes

From the book of changes, the I Ching  "Whenever a feeling is voiced
with truth and frankness, whenever a deed is the clear expression of
sentiment, a mysterious and far reaching influence is exerted.
At first it acts on those who are inwardly receptive, but the circle
grows larger. The root of all influence lies in ones own inner being.
Given true and vigorous expression in word and deed, its effect is great.
The effect is but the reflection of something that emanates from ones own heart.

"When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said, in rather
a scornful tone, "it means just what I choose
it to mean - neither more nor less."
"The question is," said Alice, "whether you can
make words mean so many different things."
"The question is,"said Humpty Dumpty,
"Which is to be master - that's all."

You radiate forth a glow that moves ahead of you...forming substance,
attracting like minds, creating that which is necessary to please your
mind, your heart...your every desire, every want, every need.

We are told never to cross a bridge till we come to it, but this world is
owned by men who have "crossed bridges" in their mind and
imagination far ahead of the crowd.

People say that what we're all seeking is a meaning for life. I don't think
that's what we're really seeking. I think that what we're seeking is
an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely
physical plane will have resonances within our own innermost being
and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive.
Joseph Campbell

Two men were walking along a crowded sidewalk in a downtown business
area. Suddenly one exclaimed: 'Listen to the lovely sound of that cricket.'
But the other could not hear. He asked his companion how he could detect
the sound of a cricket amid the din of people and traffic. The first man, who
was a zoologist, had trained himself to listen to the voices of nature. But he
didn't explain. He simply took a coin out of his pocket and dropped it to the
sidewalk, whereupon a dozen people began to look about them.
'We hear,' he said 'what we listen for.' "   Kermit L. Long

The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral,
begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy. Instead of diminishing
evil, it multiplies it. Through violence you may murder the liar, but
you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the truth. Through violence you
may murder the hater, but you do not murder hate. In fact, violence
merely increases hate. So it goes. Returning violence for violence
multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of
stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate
cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.
Martin Luther King, Jr.

" The most dangerous criminal may be the man gifted with reason, but with no morals." Martin Luther King, Jr

Love is giving someone the space to be
the way they are and the way they are not.

If you love something, set it free. If it comes
back to you, it's yours; if it doesn't, it never was.

Live one day at a time and make it a masterpiece.
